We have lots of fun working in Rainbow class. Here is some of the work we have done!

Seasons and Celebrations

Our topic this half term is all about the seasons and what special occasions cultures celebrate. We will be learning about Diwali, Autumn, Bonfire Night, Weddings, Birthdays, Ramadan, Hannukah, Winter, Advent and Christmas! Look at our lovely topic work!

Night and Day

As part of our topic work, children have explored night and day, light and dark. Look at our night time pictures and our writing about the dark!

Autumn

We have learning about Autumn by exploring our school grounds, reading storys, non fiction books and listening to poems. Look at our lovely work!

Making Patterns!

Children have been learning how to make a pattern. We used shapes, compare bears and cubes to make lots of different patterns. We really enjoyed making the biggest pattern towers!

Culture Week 19.10-23.10

During culture week, we had Diwali and African workshops where we learnt Bollywood dancing and traditional African dance. We did many other activities based around the culture theme!

Reception made divas out of clay, reinacted the Diwali story, made Indian bangles, and explored Rangoli patterns as part of our Diwali theme. We decorated African masks, made African beaded necklaces, explored an African story with story sack and painted African animals for our African part of the week. We all had so much fun!

Reception Rainbows!

We exploring colour by making our own rainbows. They now welcome children into school in our cloakroom!
